Listen to 2024 Sessions

Deep Darkness to Light

2024 CONFERENCE THEME

How to Read and Preach the Book of Job
8th to 10th January 2024
The Amber Springs Hotel, Gorey, Co. Wexford
Welcome to the website of the Irish Preachers Conference. We hold an annual conference to train and encourage preachers in Ireland.

Our fundamental conviction is that when the Bible is taught God’s voice is heard. The main aim of the conference, therefore, is to teach the Bible to teachers in order that they in turn can teach it to others. A further aim is to provide a fellowship of like-minded evangelicals across denominational lines for encouragement in a demanding work.

Our prayer is that through our conferences pastor-teachers in particular will be refreshed spiritually, stimulated theologically and pastorally, and encouraged in the great task of preaching the unsearchable riches of Christ from the living and enduring word of God, the Bible.

What is in the conference?

We offer biblical exposition to feed the mind and fire the heart, preaching workshops to help sharpen ourselves as ‘approved workmen’ of the Word, and addresses on key issues at the cutting edge of ministry. Past expositions from the conference can be found on this website for free download.

Is it for Me?

The Irish Preachers conference is intended for those engaged in Word ministry and living in the Republic of Ireland. It affords an opportunity to be ministered to as well as to work hard together on the task of preaching the Bible.  None of us can ‘go it alone’, and fellowship with others across the denominations who share in the struggles of authentic, biblical ministry can be a vital source of strength and encouragement.  So, if that is you, we welcome you to join us.

Speaker: Douglas Sean O’Donnell

Douglas Sean O’Donnell (PhD, University of Aberdeen) is the Senior Vice President of Bible Editorial at Crossway. Over the past twenty-five years he has helped train people around the world to read and teach the Bible clearly. He has pastored several churches, served as a professor, and he has written or edited over twenty books to help God's people know and love God’s Word, including The Biggest Story Bible Storybook Sunday School curriculum, devotionals, Bible studies, and many commentaries. Aside from his love for God’s Word, Doug loves spending time with his wife, five children, and first granddaughter (as of August); reading; long walks; and watching American college football (sorry). Doug’s father Padraic was born and raised in Connemara!

Each workshop will meet three times and will involve some preparation before the conference. Details of this will be sent to delegates about a month in advance.

The cost is €245 Euro and is inclusive of all meals and accommodation.

There is an early booking fee of €220 up to 15th November 2023
